It's been a busy week - we've been away for a wonderful break on the Scillies, which I'll be writing about over on my Grape Vine blog in a day or two, so I've not had much time for crafting, but here's a quick card I made today using two of my favourite stamps, an oak leaf and a maple leaf, from the American company Just For Fun. The stamps are double sided - one side is the flat silhouette of the leaf, and the other the veins. I use a stamp positioner to get the veins in place (being me, not always 100% accurately! But then, nature doesn't produce identical leaves, does she?)
I used a distress ink for the leaves, so that they didn't look too flat, and sponged a border of the ink on the inside of the card, which I finished off with another leaf. The veins are embossed with a dark green powder to make them stand out. It's hard to tell from the photos, but the white rectangle has been embossed with a wood grain effect folder.
